14 graduate from ZIMTA EHlekweni centre PDF Print E-mail

At least 14 former members of the Army, graduated on Friday 15 September at ZIMTA-Ehlekweni Vocational training centre in Bulawayo with different accolades, distinctions and awards from a Sustainable Agriculture Development Course offered at the training centre.

The graduants whose majority were members of the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) undertook training in Sustainable Agriculture where courses learnt included , animal husbandry , crop husbandry , entrepreneurship and project proposal writing and attachment.

Although ZIMTA- EHlekweni Vocational training centre is geared towards capacitating and empowering teachers and surrounding communities,
“this first crop of graduants was used as a pioneer project, and the enabling facilities at the vocational centre went a long way to ensure that the students’ objectives were met”, said ZIMTA Secretary General, Mr Tapson Nganunu in an interview.


Presiding over the graduation ceremony was the ZIMTA Secretary General Tapson Nganunu and ZIMTA CEO Mr Sifiso Ndlovu who presented the certificates to the excited students.


In an interview, one of the graduants Japhter Nyathi hailed ZIMTA for providing facilitators, resources, accommodation and a very practical course, which guaranteed him of entering into a profitable business after retiring from his long service in the army.


Also speaking during the ceremony, ZIMTA CEO, Sifiso Ndlovu said the second intake would seek to be more inclusive but it would mostly target to have former members of the teaching profession benefiting from the courses offered and facilities at the vocational centre.
